Fabulous ivory netsuke of a Kirin signed Mitsuharu. Very high quality carver mentioned in the Soken Kisho. Kyoto school pre 1781. This fine example with good patina has some nice wear.

The hair work on the tail and maine is superb. The eyes are inlaid with dark horn. The patina is quite fantastic. Natural himotoshi through the legs.

Shishimai meiji ivory netsuke signed Gyokuzan.
This is fantastic ivory netsuke with the himotoshi ringed with green ivory. The ears are lacquered, designs in the boys trousers are in MOP, coral and horn. the drum has horn studs allround the top and bottom, with a brass freemoving ring. The eyes are double inlay MOP and horn. The hinged mouth is original. The condition is superb just a tiny chip to rim on heal (seen in photos).
Signed in red lacquer tablet Gyokuzan.
